House, built as lodge to High Canons, Shenley (q.v.). Early C19.
Whitewashed brick. Hipped slate roof. Gothick. 1 storey. Semi-octagonal
towards road with 3 windows under pointed rubbed brick arches. Decorative
glazing with trefoils. Left return to drive has one similar window to
left and entrance with segmental head to chamfered surround. Small gabled
porch. Plinth. Deep eaves. Central stack with cornice band. Flat roofed
extension to rear. Interior not inspected. Attached later C19 cast iron
gates, railings and piers. 2 square piers of decorative trellis work
with ball finials, all in iron. Railings with spear heads, ramped down
from sides to centre.
