Farmhouse. Mid C17 with C19 addition. Plastered cob walls. Gable-ended thatch
roof. 2 brick gable-end stacks.
Plan: 2-room plan which may originally have had central through-passage but now
with small central room and staircase. Each room heated by end fireplace but it is
possible that the one in the left-hand room has been inserted. C19 rear outshut
added.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Regular 3-window front of early C20 3-light casements, apart
from 2-light C19 leaded pane casement at centre of slight projection with C19 leanto
porch below which has plank door behind. C19 outshut extends along rear wall.
Interior: very heavy deeply chamfered ceiling beams. Ovolo-moulded wooden lintel
to fireplace in right-hand room. Roof timbers not visible on lst floor and unlikely
to be very early.
This house preserves a very traditional unaltered external appearance.
