11/153 Gate piers approximately 20 metres
to north-west of Methodist Chapel
GV II

Gate piers and adjoining walls. Later C19. Red sandstone ashlar, rubble to
adjoining walls. Square gate piers with castellated and moulded capitals and
chamfered edges. Decorative buttresses on each face of the piers which are recessed
from the road with a curved section of wall to each side projecting back out to the
road. Ornate wrought iron gates. Originally formed the gateway to the former
Vicarage, now Nine Beeches (qv).
