House. C17 or earlier, C20 renovations. Colourwashed, and plastered with slate roof
gabled at the left end, 1 projecting left gable end stack, 1 stack on ridge, slim
brick chimney shaft at right end. Although the plan appears to be a straight forward
3 room and through passage the relationship of this property to 'Homeleigh' (qv)
which adjoins at the north west end is something of a puzzle. 2 storeys.
Asymmetrical 5-window front with a C20 front door on front at left and further
entrance on front at right. C20 fenestration.
Interior Through passage survives with exposed joists. The hall is heated by a
stack on the opposite wall to the passage. Large hall fireplace with granite jambs
and replaced lintel. The hall has a large chamfered cross beam. The wall between
the hall and inner room has been partly dismantled. The inner room fireplace has a
chamfered lintel. The chamfered lintel to the lower end fireplace is concealed
behind a modern lintel.
