II

Detached cottage. Possibly late C17 or early C18. Roughcast cob with stone footings. Gabled-end thatched roof. Simple two-celled dwelling, with corner stack, occupying corner site, with rear wing running along King Street. Two-storeys.

Front: (to King Street): the wing is recessed, with two first floor window, one under a shallow eyebrow eaves, and with two to ground floor to the right of door; two two-light windows to older range with one of three-lights above; the eaves line runs steeply and erratically to meet the corner internal stack, with brick shafts. Tiverton Road elevation with small window at eaves level, a three-light window below, and a tiny fire window to the right of this. All casements C20, but embrasures look old.

Interior: some chamfered beams, unstopped; one truss partially visible in upper room could be a jointed cruck. Roof space not inspected.
