Earlier C19 row of cottages curved round counterscarp of castle motte ditch. 2
storeys. Welsh slate roof with red brick stack. Colour-washed random limestone
rubble fronts. Irregular fenestration: No 10 with 2 casement windows; Nos 1 -13
With architraved sash windows; No 13A with paired sash windows with timber lintols.
Most windows with glazing bars. No 10, recessed doorway approached by steps with
½ glazed door. Nos 11 and 12, entrances under verandah at 1st floor level approached
by steps with wrought iron handrail; panelled doors. No 13 ground floor openings
under wide segmental arches: carriage entrance and ½ glazed door with fanlight.
No 13A; recessed doorway with ½ glazed door.
