10/3 Barn and Stables about 10 metres
east of Downrew Farmhouse

Barn and stables. Probably late C17. Stone and cob, pantiled roof with gable ends.
Rectangular on plan, integral barn and stables with lofted stables at lower end.
Old plank double doors to east side, infilled opposing cart entrance to rear.
Triangular owl hole at lower gable end. Stables on west side has loft door over
plank door with 4 paned window to right. Western half of original roof structure
survives with principals with short curved feet, 2 tiers of trenched purlins and
mortice holes in the soffits of the blades for collars, now removed.
