Cottage. C17 or earlier. Small cottage of cruck construction. One of two cruck
trusses is exposed in the east wall. Coursed rubble sandstone and brick.
Thatched roof, and lower slate roof. Brick gable end stacks. Single storey
plus attics. South elevation: Coped wall to left with a C20 window with stone
lintel with ogee arch cut in. To the right, a C20 casement window with leaded
lights, doorway with plank door and a C20 casement window. Lower wing to the
east with a dormer window, Interior with stone flagged floor, large stone
fireplace (now partly blocked) to west wall with blocked doorway beside it. Winder
staircase against east wall. First floor has west fireplace with interesting
squinch detail supporting purlin.
