Two sets of gatepiers and attached wall at Newton Old Hall
(formerly listed with Newton Old Hall)

Two sets of gatepiers and attached wall. Late C17 and late C19. Ashlar and coursed
rubble stone. Gatepiers are approximately ten feet high and have plain square piers
surmounted by moulded cornices topped by large ball finials. Gatepiers to front of
house with C20 gates are C19 copies of those to south, and the two are connected by
a high rubble wall with rounded copings.
