Timber framed building, refaced in C18 with painted brick. 2 storeys. 3
narrow sash windows on 1st floor with moulded flush frames and late C19 glazing.
Modillion eaves cornice and tiled roof. In the centre of the ground floor is a
wide carriage archway, ground floor advanced at each side. Entrance door to west
of this and actually part of No 76 High Street structurally. This doorway has
pilasters, pediment and semi-circular fanlight. The inn has eastern and western
rear ranges each side of courtyard. Stone flags form paving along street facade.

Ye Olde George Inne is part of an important focal group at the crossing of the
town's main streets with Nos 67 and 76 High Street and No 1 Church Street.
No 67 High Street is a building of local interest.
