Farm cottages, now house. Mid C19. Front is rendered, part of returns, and
back in brick and flint banding; slate roofs. Formerly two cottages,
associated with the model farm (q.v.) which lies immediately to the west. Two
parallel blocks, each with hipped roofs, joined at a central valley, and the
front block loftier than the back. Front is 2 storeys, 2 + 2 windows, all
small-paned 2-light casements with central wood mullion but iron lights. To
left, centred on first unit, a Cl9 panelled door. Central ridge brick stack.
Cropped stack on left return, large C20 casements on right return. Back block
has mainly 2-light iron casements, as front, and a projecting one floor hipped
central extension. One eaves brick stack. Interiors not inspected. An
essential element in the group with the model rant created by Lord Portman on
his estate.
