ST 82 SW STOUR PROVOST

3/134 Ruddock's Farmhouse

House, probably late C17. Coursed rubble, gable-ended, tiled roof
with end brick stacks. 2 storeys, irregular fenestration. 2 and
3-light casements, some with glazing bars and some with leaded-lights
in wrought iron frames. Some original glass. Wooden lintels. C19
porch. Part glazed flush panelled door. Internal features: chamfered
beams with ogee stops; blocked open fireplace; plank and muntin
partitions upstairs; collar-truss roof reusing timbers of an earlier
house including a pair of jointed cruck blades.
