ST 71 NE STALBRIDGE

2/64 Gibbs Marsh Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, C17 with additions and alterations dated 1863. Coursed rubble, slate
roof with gable ends. Chimneys at ends of original range and at C19 gable.
South facade: 2 storeys, 5 window range. C19 and C20 wooden casements with
glazing bars of 2 and 3-lights throughout. All windows except upper floor
second from left under segmental stone arches. C20 porch with earlier plank door.
Original house L-shaped, C19 additions to the right. Internally there are
stopped deep chamfered beams. Principals of the C17 roof with cambered tie
beams under later roof. C19 additions attached by the Grosvenor estate.
