Early C16 house, timber framed and plastered, red plain tile roofs. H-plan
with later extensions. 2 storeys. 2:l:1:1:1 window range, modern casements
and original vertical mullion windows. Original door with applied rail and
murtins, four centre head and sunk spandrels. Stair tower frame with north
crosswing, 2 original red brick chimney stacks with diagonal shafts, and 2
similar to south range partly C20. Internally the north wing is of 3 bays
with double cyma mouldings jowled storey posts and joists, with diminished
haunches. Crown post roof. Wing originally jettied at east end. Hall is
of 3 bays with double-cyma mouldings on all posts and beams. One service
door remains. Roof is Crown post down braced to tie beam. In north wall of
north wing is C15 roundel of secular stained glass (RCHM 13) Moated Site.
