GV II

Cottage late C13 hall house with crosswing to left and floored end to right.
2 bay hall. Timber framed and plastered. Plain red tiled roof with gabled
dormer. 2 storeys 3 diamond leaded casements and a blocked original mullion
window. To the right is a C20 part glazed door with small windows to right and
left. Off-centre C16 red brick chimney stack. The roof to the hall is sooted
with cambered, arched braced tie beam and truncated king post; the shaft of
which is octagonal with moulded base and capital. South crosswing altered in Cl
Heavily moulded side girth to right with splayed and tabled scarf with over
squinted abutments and feather wedge original crownpost roof rebuilt. A first
floor and chimney stack were inserted into the hall C16. RCHM 18.
