C17 altered and retaining wall probably rebuilt C18. Supports a huge yew hedge
behind the walk. Red brick about 4 foot 6 inches high. Stone gate piers to
steps. The piers incorporate C12 corbel heads (probably from Reading Abbey)
and fragmentary capping.
