Former dwelling house, now farm outbuilding. Late C17 or early C18 with C19 alterations and additions and some C20 refurbishment. Uncoursed rubble sandstone without dressings, single circular gable stack (a C20 addition) at the end and a Westmorland slate roof covering laid to diminishing courses. 2-cell end lobby entrance plan. S elevation; single storey, 2 bays with single doorway to w end, central 6-pane fixed light window, and to the right a single-light window in a partially, infilled wider opening. N gable with wide doorway and planked door to right beneath rough lintol. Doorway to added rear oiiihut set back from gableline. Interior; entry baffle wall to left of gable doorway carries massive cambered hearth beam defining wide endwall hearth. Inserted sawn C19 tie beams sit on interior masonry partition wall separates heated room from service 'passage' to side.
