The Limes
GV (formerly listed as
THE Limes and Out-
House, C17 in origin, altered and enlarged C18. Of coursed squared stone with
Collyweston stone slate roofs, ridge and lateral stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys,
basement and attic. C17 mullioned windows to basement, and long 2-light mullioned
staircase window to west (perhaps C19 imitation). North (street) front 2 window
range, 12-pane sash windows. To left, arched entrance way with hood over, with
lions' heads in the spandrels. South (garden) front 3 window range, with C19 sash
windows, tripartite, to ground floor. Central doorway in roll-moulded architrave
reached by flight of steps. Similar doorway to east. C17 carved wooden overmantel,
now on staircase.
