Hall house with crosswing, now 3 cottages. Late C14, extended late C18,
altered mid C20. Part brick, part timber framed encased in brick. Old
tile, gabled roof. L-plan of 2 x 1 framed bays with C18 extension on
left which is No.46. Former hall is No.48 and crosswing No.50 which
was formerly jettied. 2 storeys. Flank chimney on left of No.46,
chimney in front of ridge to No.48. Road front:- C18 brick, 2 one bay
projecting gables left and right, the left wider. 4-light C20 casement
windows with glazing bars and brick hoodmoulds. Plain planked entrance
doors, one on right hand of each gable and one in left of centre part,
all with hoodmoulds. Interior:- No.46 has the end frame of No.48 visible.
Nos. 48 and 50 have most of the timber frame visible. No.50 has large
plain joists and principal beam and half a large ogee-arched and
chamfered, door frame re-set adjoining later staircase. Collar purlin
roof with 3 plain crown posts the centre one braced 2 ways. No.46 is
included for group value.
