II

Cottage. Late C16, altered C19 and C20. Timber framed with painted
brick infill, thatched gabled roof. Rectangular plan of 2 framed bays
with tiled pent roof extension at rear. 2 storeys and attic. 2 chimneys.
South front: scattered fenestration of 2 and 3-light leaded casements
within timber framing and 2 small 2-light casement dormers in thatch.
C20 entrance door in centre and small single light at mezzanine level on
left hand. Old fire insurance plaque No.427828 on centre post at first
floor level. Interior: Many timbers exposed and inglenook chimney on
east gable. The cottage was known at one time as Susanna Halliday's Cottage.
