LONG BREDY LONG BREDY VILLAGE

1/164 Bottle Knap Cottage
GV II
Detached Cottage. Mid C17. Rubble stone and chalk block walls. Thatch roof,
half-hipped at left hand, gabled at right hand. C18 brick stacks at ridge, right
of centre, and at right hand gable. 2 storeys. 3 windows, 2-light wooden case-
ments with glazing-bars, C19. 2 upper windows have fixed lead lights and
wooden lintels over. Two doorways, towards left hand end, plank with wooden frame,
into former dairy. Right of centre, flush-panelled with 6 top lights and wooden
frame, C19. Attached apple-store at right hand end, rubble stone with pentice
corrugated-iron roof. Plank door with wide planks; Interior: well in former
dairy. Ceiling-beam with straight chamfer and filleted stop. Fireplace with a
cambered wooden lintel over, to left hand boom. C19 fireplace with cast-iron
framing to right hand gable.
