SY 58 SE ABBOTSBURY WEST ELWORTH

5/71 Elworth Farmhouse (formerly
26.1.56 listed as West Elsworth Farmhouses)
GV II

Detached Farmhouse. Mid C18. Rubble-stone walls. Slate roof with projecting
eaves, C19. C19 brick stacks at each gable end. 2 storeys. 3 windows, 3-light
stone-mullioned with hollow-chamfers. C20 wooden casements with horizontal
glazing-bars. Returned stone labels over. Front door at centre, flush-panelled
with 2 top lights, rubble-stone voussoirs over. Gabled-in store-house at left
hand end, with a thatch roof. Brick stack on the east gable. 2-light cast-iron
casements on the gable-end. Plank door in the angle, C19.
Interior: open fireplace in right hand gable. Outhouse (wood-store) attached on
west gable end, with pentice slate roof over. Plank door to front with a wooden
frame.
