11/153 Manor Farm House,
including wall
11.7.51 enclosing farmyard.

GV II

Farmhouse. Probably mid-C17 origin, enlarged in late C17 or C18. Rubble stone
walls - front wall part pebble-dashed, ashlar quoins. Slate roof with coped
gables, and finial to original wing. One brick stack near top of gable, one
at opposite gable, one at end of later wing. T-shaped plan, - original range
of 2 storeys and attic. In end gable wall, ground and first floors each have
one 4-light stone mullioned window with hoodmould. Similar, blocked, 3-light
window in attic. Later range on right of 2 storeys. Ground floor has one
4-light and two 2-light stone mullioned windows with hoodmoulds. First floor
has 3 similar 3-light windows without hoodmoulds. Lean-to addition at rear
of this wing. Small roughcast single-storey addition at right end, contains
present entrance. Internally, right end ground floor room in later wing has
4-centred arched stone fireplace. At junction of the two wings a C17
four-centred arched doorway. In original range, north room (at rear) has one
stop-chamfered ceiling beam. Central dairy, with plank and muntin partitions
and some early fittings. South room - adjoining road, has stop-chamfered
ceiling beams and 4-centred arched stone fireplace across corner. Right-of
the house, rubble stone wall enclosing farmyard, with cock and hen coping.
