Detached Farmhouse. Mid C17 main range, with C18 service-range to north-east,
refenestrated C19, and C19 outhouse at west end. Rubble-stone walls and
dressed stone quoins. Thatch roof, half-hipped and hipped. Stacks: at east
end of ridge, stone with brick cap; at centre ridge, stone with moulded cornice,
C18; at-west end of ridge, brick. 1 1/2 storeys. 5 windows, irregular fenestration,
including two 4-light ovolo-moulded stone mullions to south, wood-framed iron
casements with lead lights. Doors to north elevation, plank door, left of
centre, C18, into relict cross-passage; C20 plank door towards right hand end
into outhouse. Service-range has brick-dressed windows, 2-light wood casements.
Interior: room left of cross-passage, has open fireplace with cambered wood
lintel. Staircase position, immediate left of fireplace, half-spiral wooden
stair with doorcase. Slight-chamfered ceiling-beam. C18 fielded-panel
cupboarding to alcove across corner of room. (RCHM. Dorset I, p.122(11))
