SIXPENNY HANDLEY ST 91 SE MILLER'S LANE

5/96 Minchington Farmhouse 18.3.55 II

Farmhouse, late C16 or early C17. Flint and rubble, part chequerwork flint and rubble. Ashlar and brick dressings. Thatched roof with end brick stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys, 3 bay. Ground floor right has 3-light stone mullioned window. Similar 2-light window in upper floor. Remaining windows mainly 2 and 3-light timber casements with glazing bars, some under flat, gauged brick arches. Some blocked openings. Panelled door to rear wing.

Internal features (RCHM): through passage flanked by moulded plank and muntin partitions, now occupied by staircase; open fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and chamfered and cambered timber bressummer; chamfered beam. (RCHM, Dorset, vol V, p 67, no. 12).
