The Homestead

Detached cottage - formerly 2 cottages. Probably late C18. Plastered cob walls,
thatched roof. One central brick stack and one at right end. One storey and
attic. Large plastered buttress on front wall. 2 ledged doors, one in a C20
timber porch. Ground floor has 4 casements with glazing bars. Attic has two
dormers with similar casements. One small casement under eaves. Lean-to
addition at left end, with corrugated sheet roof. Internally, traces of 2
large fireplaces, part built up. (RCHM, Monument 156. Dorset. Vol. II).
