Barn. Late C16. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with corrugated
asbestos. 5 bays aligned WNW-ESE, with midstrey to NNE (described here by the
cardinal points). Built with 2 aisles, but S aisle demolished. Gablet hip at W
end only. Jowled posts, heavy studding; at the E end some of the studding has
been replaced with C17 oak studding with primary straight bracing. 2 bays of
the N aisle wall, to W of the midstrey, and the aisle rafters above, rebuilt in
softwood. Straight arcade braces. Edge-halved and bridled scarfs in arcade-
plates. Internal tiebeam nearest to W end missing. Original arched braces to
internal tiebeam nearest to E end, the others replaced by bolted knees. Clasped
purlin roof. Vehicle door at W end.
