Formerly the Talbot Inn. Now divided. Early C18 brick houses, low 2 storey with
high pitched early tiled roof. 5 windows to 1st floor, casements on No 81, glazing
bar sashes on No 83. 2 later shops to ground floor: - No 81 has circa 1850 double
bay window front with central entrance; heavy dentil cornice over Joint fascia.
No 83 has late C19 double shop front, now plate glass with glazed central entrance,
flanked by pilasters supporting fascia with cornice. 2 gabled extensions to rear
forming courtyard. That of No 83 is diapered brick with stone gable end, high
tiled roof with brick chimneys - one of the quoins of this building has stone marked
'T.W.' over '1696', and 'E.H.'

Nos 79, 81, 81A, 83 and 87 to 103 (odd) form a group of which Nos 99 and 101 are
of local interest only.
