Plastered wattle and daub and brick infill. One storey and first floor in attic. East end later extension. Three wood casements renewed. Three as "eyebrowed" dormers to south front with one other above that at east end. Originally may have been open hall to centre. Staircase hall with entrance C17/C18 and carefully rebuilt recently. Passage created on first floor to five bedrooms. Roof structure largely intact, with purlins and collar trusses. Chamfered bressumers to fireplaces and bread ovens on ground floor.

Yew Tree Cottage forms an important rural group with Well House and Walnut Tree Cottage, Church Green Road.
