Farmhouse, late C16 with C19 additions. Situated within a
rectangular moated site. Close studded timber frame plastered
and exposed in gable and rear elevations. Local brick chimney
stack with four octagonal shafts of two stages. Plain tile
roof. Two storeys, three unit plan of five timber-framed bays
including a chimney bay. Four casement window replacements at
first and ground floor. Modern porch to entrance in original
cross-passage position. Interior has plain chamfered axial
beams and three original stop-chamfered, four-centred arched
clunch chimney pieces. Modern staircase in cross-passage.
Carpentry details: storey posts unjowled without braces to
chimney bay, braces removed to all other trusses. Edge halved
and bridled scarf joints. Side purlin roof.
