House, formerly inn and shop. c.1840 and later. Brick or clay bat,
stuccoed. Hipped roof of slate and grey brick side stacks. House of double
pile plan with wings at either end for carriageway entry and a shop.
Symmetrical facade framed by rusticated quoins. Central doorway with reeded
doorcase, flanked by two similar windows each with raised keyblocks. Gabled
and stuccoed carriageway wing to left hand. Raised surround to round headed
archway and above in the gable an original site for a clock. The shop wing
is to the right hand. Single storey and slate with original later C19 shop
V.C.H. Cambs. Vol. VIII
