Cardinal's Yard
GV II
Cottage. Early C18 north-south range with a 1976 addition to south. Timber
framed and rendered; thatched roof with red brick ridge stack to south
of centre. One storey original range, one storey and attic addition
with main entrance in angle. (Fine carved door, possibly C17 and
Spanish). Two eyebrow casement dormer windows; three C20 windows including
one segmental planned window to single storey range. Interior: Remains of
of trusses from earlier timber frame on site; evidence of a framed chimney
stack rebuilt with early C19 red brick. Part of the west wall has been
removed for a flat roofed extension. Included for group value only.
