Also known as the Great Eastern Drying Shed, HIGH STREET
Skin drying shed. Mid C.19. Timber-framed and weather boarded above brick ground storey, below hipped slate roof. Twenty six bays by four bays. The arcaded brick ground floor would formerly have housed steeping tanks. The three upper storeys with adjustable louvered ventilators and unencumbered floor space was for skin drying. Now largely out of use.
