Formerly the Mermaid Tavern. Late C17 timber framed house refaced on
street frontage. C18 front 2 storeys with attics, gault brick, modern
tile roof, band between storeys. 4 windows, flush frames with exposed
boxing and glazing bars. Carriageway on right of ground floor with segmental
arch. At rear C17 window with solid oak frame, transome and mullion, upper
lights with lead glazing, lower light with original iron casement.

No. 1, 7 to 13 (odd), No. 17 and Nos. 21 to 39 (odd) form a group
with the shop adjoining No. 1.
