ST 46 NW KINGSTON SEYMOUR C.P. BACK LANE

2/22 Rookery Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Mid C17, altered. Roughcast rubble, raised, coped verges on
kneelers, pantile roof. Former 2 unit cross passage. 2 storeys, 3 windows;
central, 3 plank, nailed door has stopped ovolo moulded surround with similar
lintel above, all within a gabled C19 porch; 2- and 3-light C19 casements below,
2-light C20 casements above, large square gable stacks. East gable has a
2-light C17 casement at attic level. Full length rear catslide extension with
C20 dormers in attic. Interior: ground floor has deep chamfered beams, those
to former, wide, crosspassage have rounded stepped stops; east room has inglenook
with stopped, chamfered bressummer and a small spice cupboard within; winder
stair alongside rises through 2 storeys; winder at east gable rises only one;
west room has one, formerly external, C17, ovolo moulded, 3-light casement, stays
intact.
