House, now 2 houses. Late C18/early C19 with later alterations and additions.
Coursed squared sandstone rubble with limestone ashlar and dressings, brick, part
rendered, 2-span slate roof with raised coped verges, double Roman tiles and
pantiled rear wing. L-plan. 2 storeys and 5 windows, ground floor has 2 ashlar
bays with early C19 French windows with side lights, cornice and blocking course,
central double glazed doors in moulded architrave with triple keystone, with wide
lead canopy on cast iron slender piers with wrought iron frieze; first floor has
five 2-light casements of 4 panes each in flat architrave with triple projecting
keystones; projecting long and short quoins, cornice, parapet and coping and
2 C20 roof-lights. Attached to left a single storey addition with pitched double
Roman tiled roof and C20 window to front; attached to right and set back a C20
flat roofed addition with C20 glazed door and window. Right return rendered with
four 2-light casements at first floor. Left return has small single storey
addition with C20 door and window, ground and first floor left 4-pane sash, attic
level has sash to left and plate-glass sash to right, both with gauged brick
cambered heads, partly rendered to right. Rear has C20 door and window at ground
floor, first floor has 18-pane sash with gauged brick head, tall round-headed
stair light with gothic intersecting glazing bars and 4-pane sash, 2nd floor has
two 16-pane sashes; lower 2-storey rear wing of later C19 has 3-light casement at
ground floor and 4-light at first floor, both with segmental gauged brick heads,
C20 door to right with similar head. Interior: not inspected.
