Bridge, 1870's, for the 3rd Marquis and 1st Duke of Westminster, by or
in association with Alfred Waterhouse. Rock-faced sandstone with
ashlar quoins and voussoirs. The single basket arch has quadrant
moulded arrises and projecting rectangular piers to each side. The
abutments terminate in smaller rectangular piers. The parapets match
those on the bridge carrying the Approach over Aldford Brook (q.v.)
incorporating cast iron panels designed circa 1810, removed by
Waterhouse from the forecourt of Eaton Hall.
