SJ 44 NE OVERTON OVERTON HEATH

II
Farmhouse, formerly house. c1711 and onwards with C19 wing to rear
and alterations. Red-brown brick in Flemish bond with stone
dressings. Slate roof, tile ridge. 2 storeys, 3 bays with attics and
cellars. Facade is symmetrically articulated by pilaster strips at
the ends and either side of entrance, but the outer windows are not
central to their bays. Moulded stone plinth, plain stone band. Brick
gable end stacks, gable parapets with stone capping. Altered 3 light
near flush timber casements, with stone cills and splayed heads.
Added bay window at right. Central stone doorcase with bolection
moulded architrave and pulvinated frieze and cornice. Plain
rectangular fanlight over replaced door.
Interior: later oak stair with turned balusters, curved and moulded
rails, moulded brackets. Added panelling to front right room. Wall
cupboard with oak fielded panel door, moulded frame, in front left
room. Boxed beams, raised and fielded 6-panel doors, 2 panel doors
upstairs. Broad oak floors.
