Barn, now farm equipment store. Later C18. Timber framed on brick
sills, weatherboarded, and plain tiled roof. Seven bays, with
central cartway and midstrey on south side. Lean-to sheds added
either side, and to east gable end. Irregular paned windows. C20
machinery access doors in west gable. Interior has jowled posts
with straight braces to wall plate and straight chamfered tie-
beams. Queen struts and collar. Single tier of purlins with wind
braces. Ridge. Horizontal struts between purlins at mid-bay
point. No wall bressumers. Trusses number from west, ticked on
north side. Roof half hipped. Graffiti on wall post read: TS
178(?)1, WF 1796, WT 1822, and 1842. One of an important group
of later C18 farm buildings at Countess Farm (q.v.).
