11/88 Redmire Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Probably mid C18 with early C19 alterations. Rendered,
graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Central half-glazed 4-panel
door in plain surround under C20 glazed porch. Flanking and first-floor 3-
light flat-faced mullion windows, the mullions slightly recessed. Banded
end stacks. Although the eaves may have been raised in the early C19 the
house retains the proportions of a rarely surviving mid C18 vernacular
building of the area. Interior not inspected at resurvey.
