Gate pier, dwarf boundary wall with railings, commemorative
plaque. Mid C18 with 1851 plaque. Wall and plaque in Portland
ashlar, cast-iron railings.
The pier, approx 2.3m high, is in banded ashlar, with a
capping on modillion cornice, and moulded base. The dwarf
wall, in large stone block with weathered coping, dies to the
pavement on the left, and rises to approx 0.45m to the right,
where it curves back towards the main front; here there is a
C20 gate, but the wall carries simple railings.
The plain stone plaque stands on the wall coping at the
right-hand end, with an inscription in capitals: THIS
