Long, low, 2-storey, sandstone "brick" building on narrow site with rear elevation to
Old Road. The front is rendered. Stone slate roof with corniced chimneys. Four
2 light square mullion windows. The ground floor of the public house has 2 large canted
stone bays of the early C19 vernacular type with square mullions dividing the 3 lights;
deep parapets probably altered. The rear elevation has 2 light square mullion windows
in squared frames and squared jamb doorways. Mid C19 cast iron railings border the
edge of sunken pavement.
