Originally a very large hydropathic establishment, now part of a college of education. Circa 1860, by Cuthbert Brodrick. Three storeys. Ashlar. Symmetrical rectangular design.
Main front to north: nine sash windows (of different sizes of pane on different floors), two end bays projecting and having attic storey above. Ground floor segmental heads; shouldered panels below (central doorway in coved reveal).
First storey: round-headed with blocked, vermiculated surrounds and carved floral motif in panels below. Second storey: grooved pilaster strips, semi-circular decorative pendants.
Attics: three round-headed windows flanked by composite pilasters and separated by composite columns supporting bracketed cornice. Further pilasters at outer corners with fielded panels between. Ground storey is rusticated with double string course above. Similar, smaller one over first storey. Moulded frieze with paired brackets, over second storey, supporting big cornice and pierced balustrade. North side has central bay of three windows on all storeys and attics in place of balustrade.
