Church c.1902. Founder patron Mrs. Master-Whitaker of the Holme, Cliviger.
Hammer-dressed stone, ashlar dressings, slate roof. Gothic/Tudor Revival.
Nave, aisles, chancel, west tower, north porch, north transept. 3-stage
embattled tower with diagonal buttresses with offsets. Clock to 2nd stage,
belfry to 3rd has pointed arch, octagonal spire. Vice, semi-octagonal. 5-bay
nave with 3-light Tudor arched clerestorey windows. Aisle has leanto roof,
buttesses, three 3-light flat headed windows. Gabled porch breaks forward,
has Gothic arch. Transeptal chapel has windows of 2 and 3 lights with cusped
arches and panel tracery. Chancel has 2-light flat headed windows. Angle
buttesses with offsets. Large east window has panel tracery with arched lights
set within depressed Tudor arch. West window in 1st stage of tower has Gothic
arch with intersecting tracery.
Interior has arch-braced queen post roof and brattished wall plate. Arcade of
pointed arches with colonnettes.
