Cottage, mid C17 with added barn, early C19. Used for agricultural purposes.
2 storeys. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. Only a single cell of C17
build remains. South front has doorway with composite jambs and chamfered
surround, next to double chamfered mullioned window of 6 lights (lacking 2
mullions). Over is small 2-light chamfered window (lacking mullion). C19 cell
has large flat faced mullioned window formerly of 5 lights with same over.
Right hand return wall has chamfered doorway and set back at right angles barn
entry with elliptical arch with chamfered surround. Interior of barn has 2
large semi-circular stone arches rising from corbels at Ist floor level.
Originally forming 3 bays now 2. One bay is occupied by C19 cell of cottage.
One bay of barn lacks roof. C. F. Stell, p.261.
