Shop with 2 dwellings to rear and over. c1830, altered. Ashlar sandstone
facade, coursed, squared magnesian limestone elsewhere, graduated slate roof.
2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. Good shop front of c1900 has glazed central
double-door with plain overlight flanked by large shop windows with slender
mullions and transoms and with pilasters to each side and dentilled cornice
over; to right is an angled corner doorway having later panelled door and
margin-glazed overlight in ashlar surround with shaped and moulded canopy
beneath recessed panel. 1st floor: bow windows, cantilevered out over the
shop front, have continuous sill band and sashes of 4, 12 and 4 lights
divided by plain stone mullions; blind central window with eared architrave.
Plain frieze beneath stone dentils to wooden cornice forming gutter. Gable
copings; cement-rendered end stack to left, central ashlar ridge stack.
Right return: central doorway with fanlight under arch with imposts and
keystone and with iron lantern over; casement to 1st floor has arch as door;
similar partly-blocked attic window.
