Pair of houses in row. Early C19. Rendered front, English
garden wall bond brickwork returns, stone rear, slate roof.
2 storeys and attic, each 1-window; a centred flat-roofed
dormer with casement, that to the right with slight segmental
head to the light, above 4-pane sashes to No.28, in moulded
face boxes, and replica sashes to No.26. The doors are
centred, under an ogee tent-hood on light trellis standards,
and on 2 steps. The very wide span roof has a large brick
stack to each gable. The rear wall, in Portland stone block,
has large flush stone quoins to No.26, and there is a central
deep gabled range, including at least one 2-light small-pane
early casement. The roof pitches back to the main eaves with a
half-hipped end.
