Two houses. Probably early C19. Brick with ashlar dressings, No 26
rendered, coursed stone at rear. Stone slate roofs, bitumen-covered to rear
of No 26. Two storeys. No 24 is 3 x 3 bays, No 26 is lower and set back to
left as a wing. No 24: symmetrical facade with raised ashlar quoins.
Central doorway in moulded architrave with 6-panel door with 8-pane
overlight. 3-light bow to each side with moulded cornice, curved central 12-
pane sash and narrow side sashes. 12-pane 1st-floor sashes in raised
surrounds. Moulded eaves cornice and blocking course. Broad lateral stacks.
Pyramidal roof. No 26 is of 2 bays. 2-light 12-pane sashes to left, added
porch to right with single 12-pane sash above. Small garage addition to left
not of special interest. Rear: 3-bays of 12-pane sashes. Central, quoined
doorway in later porch. Right return (No. 24): 3 blind windows in raised
surrounds to each floor. Adjoining buildings to rear of No 26 not included
in the item.
