Public house. C18, remodelled in the C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings.
Mostly slurried scantle slate roofs, asbestos slate over lower-level left hand part.
Dressed granite stacks over the gable ends.
Plan: Long rectangular range plus rear wing at right angles left of middle and rear
lean-tos. Originally a 2 room plan house with lobby and stair between the large
kitchen left and parlour right. In circa late C18 a 1 room plan cottage was added at
either end and a service wing was added behind the kitchen.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Overall 5 window south-east front. Original house in the
middle with nearly symmetrical 3 window front and 1 window front former cottages,
left and right. Front of original house remodelled and heightened in the C19. 2
granite porches, one in front of main doorway at the middle with C19 4-panel door
within and the other towards left with old ledged door. Circa late C19 horned
sashes.
