Norman origins but mostly Perpendicular. Rubble. Freestone dressings. Tiled roof.
Four bay nave and North aisle. West tower. Chancel with C19 north chapel. South
porch. Tower: 3 stages with angle buttresses. West doorway with fine carving -
fleurons, head stops to hood mould. Pierced parapet with quatre foils in lozenges.
Higher stair turret to south-east. Small, ribbed, stout spire. North aisle, with
same parapet as spire, and rood stair tower surmounted by spirelet on arcaded drum.
C19 2 bay extension of north aisle in North chapel. Interior: 4 bay nave, 2 bay
chancel, lofty chancel arch; Norman octagonal font. Finely carved Perpendicular
pulpit. South stalls with misericords, 2 with initials of Richard Sprynge (Prior of
Woodspring and Vicar of Worle, 1499-1516). In the graveyard, 5 yds from south door,
18 ins high stump dated 1664.
